Before this semester I mostly focused on pencil and paper or paint on paper. I would occasionally take pictures and make things such as paper models of cartoon characters. My illustrations would have a mix between realistic and japanese anime, this is most noticeable when looking at portraits of strangers. I also dabbled with painting cartoon characters on children's furniture. Another medium I worked with was glass mosaic on lamps. When the lamps are lit, there would be a colorful display of lights that would project to the walls and ceiling.
During this semester of college I took too art classes. One of the classes was Computer Graphics. In this class I learned how to work with a tablet and Adobe Illustrator. This is where my style changed to illustrations that focused on curved and roundish lines. This is also where I learned how to use color. I learned how to draw the shadows of tea cups and other objects, I also learned how to color things in analogous, complimentary, and monochromatic color modes.
Another class I took was Digital Imagery. In this class we started off with learning how to use the basic tools of photoshop. I created self portraits, Montages, edited the effects of pictures I took with my own camera. One major thing we learned in the class was how to restore old and extremely damaged photos. We also learned how to use Corel Painter and a bit of web design.
To sum up, over the time my art mostly consisted of medium on paper with the occasional photography. On the other hand, ever since this semester I've mostly been focusing on art on the computer.
