Before this semester I mostly focused on pencil and paper or paint on paper. I would occasionally take pictures and make things such as paper models of cartoon characters. My illustrations would have a mix between realistic and japanese anime, this is most noticeable when looking at portraits of strangers. I also dabbled with painting cartoon characters on children's furniture. Another medium I worked with was glass mosaic on lamps. When the lamps are lit, there would be a colorful display of lights that would project to the walls and ceiling.
During this semester of college I took too art classes. One of the classes was Computer Graphics. In this class I learned how to work with a tablet and Adobe Illustrator. This is where my style changed to illustrations that focused on curved and roundish lines. This is also where I learned how to use color. I learned how to draw the shadows of tea cups and other objects, I also learned how to color things in analogous, complimentary, and monochromatic color modes.
Another class I took was Digital Imagery. In this class we started off with learning how to use the basic tools of photoshop. I created self portraits, Montages, edited the effects of pictures I took with my own camera. One major thing we learned in the class was how to restore old and extremely damaged photos. We also learned how to use Corel Painter and a bit of web design.
To sum up, over the time my art mostly consisted of medium on paper with the occasional photography. On the other hand, ever since this semester I've mostly been focusing on art on the computer.

Final Variations
These are the final two versions of Groovy Juice
I learned from the critique that Groovalicious tweak was the bast font to go over the rainbows. I also filled the empty space with white to make it more readable. I also added the green hills to give it more of a hippy and nature like feel to it. Another thing I added was the "drink responsibly" text at the bottom right corner informing people that this is not a beverage for people under the age of 21. I also made two pictures to try out some different Ideas such as the color of the logo on the bottle, the clouds, and the gradient vs the psychedelic design on the bottle. I added a fill to the clouds on one picture to give it a realistic feel to it. The second picture has an outline of the clouds to make it seem more like wall paper.
What others are doing
This is a beverage that is created with the same idea as Groovy juice, other then the fact that it is a hallucinogenic .
Marley's Mellow Mood was created to give relaxation to the person drinking it.
Text Variation
These were several different text variations created.
Craft: These were done in Adobe illustrator using a bamboo tablet and pen. The first step was painting the background blue. From there I drew the bottle and moved it to the bottom left corner and tilted it. After that I used the colors to the rainbow to draw the exploding juice from the bottle. After that I set the colors on the gradient tool to rainbow and used the brush tool to color the he bottle. After that I selected several different fonts to type Groovy juice.
Concept: This is supposed to show a lot of colors and be very vibrant. The pictures are supposed to be an advertisement for a hallucinogenic juice.
Composition: First you are supposed to look at the bottle. From there you shift your eyes to the exploding juice. After you have noticed everything you read the text that explains what the bottle is.
Inspiration
These are photos that I used for my inspiration. I used a coke bottle as a reference to how I drew mine. I took the colors off of the rainbow to paint the exploding juice. The middle picture is from an episode of The Simpsons where Homer Simpson gets in touch with his hippy side and works at a juice factory. There is a scene where some questionable ingredients were used to make the juice. This causes people to hallucinate. This is where I got the idea of Groovy Juice.
This is the digitized first sketch of my original Idea.
Master/disaster
Disaster Piece
This is the pice in the museum that I would consider to be the disaster piece. This was created by Georgia O Keeffe and the title is Sky Above Clouds iv. I consider this a disaster piece because the white ovals that are supposed to be clouds look more like chunks of ice on the water. On the other hand this can be excused if the main point of this piece was to make an abstract rendering of clouds. If this is the case then I would take back my statement.
Masterpiece
This was a portrait of Philippe Coypel and His Wife. I consider this to be the master piece because of the amount of time that was taken to make this painting, the part that I want to focus on is the lace on the arm of Coypel's wife. I really like the fine lines and different shades of white grey and white lines. I would think that this would be one of the main focuses of the picture because its the only part that is sticking out of the frame.
Shapes
Craft: Illustrator CC was used for this assignment as well as a bamboo tablet and pen. First I looked for a picture of a coffee cup and uploaded it in Illustrator. After that I created several layers for the background, the saucer and the cup. I used the pen tool to make the lines and the water mark tool to grab the exact colors that was used in the original picture.
Concept: There is no real concept towards this picture, it was an assignment in which the main point was to learn how to draw a picture that derived from a photo.
Composition: When I look at this picture my focus is on the detail in the actual cup, first I look at the background, more specifically where it has more shadow. From there I move to the saucer and then I focus on the detail of the cup.

Color
Craft: This was an illustration created in Adobe Illustrator CC using a bamboo pen and tablet. This is an assignment where we incorporated color. It was exactly like the value drawings. The only difference is that I replaced white with a light shade of orange and I replaced black with a dark brick shade of orange. As usual I warmed up by righting my name repeatedly to get used to the tablet. After that I used a large brush to color in the background, slowly moving from bright to dark. After this I used the elliptical tool for the circular frames on the candle the line tool to connect them. After that I use different shades to color in the drawing. Focusing on the different shades instead of the actual structure of the candle.
Concept: For this picture I used a candle, as usual we were supposed to pick object that could contain water. a Candle has the ability to hold candle wax whether it is in the form of a liquid or a solid.
Composition: For this picture I would want to focus on the broader details such as the gradient background and then focus on the the shape of the candle and notice the shift in colors. After that I would focus at the top of the candle and finally at the wick, the wick is the part that makes it most obvious.

Value Drawings
Pot
Craft: This picture was made using Adobe Illustrator CC as well as a bamboo tablet. For this illustration I used a pot and a desk lamp. First I set everything up, meaning the pot's position and the way the light hit it. After that I opened Illustrator to warm up. Warm ups consist of me using different strokes in different colors to write my signature. After the warm ups I created the gradient background. To draw the pot I focused on the brightest section of the pot and moved to the darker shades.
Composition: What I see first in this image s the basic body of the pot because this is the area that has a more carious amount of shading. This is also the part that I look at the longest. From there I move to the inside of the pot, and finally the handle.
Concept: This is a pot, I chose it because it was an object that could contain water, and I liked the way the light bounced off if it, Because it didn't create an excessive amount of reflection.

100 line drawings
Hooka
Guitar
Hand
Icecream
Glass bottle.
Craft: Each of these illustrations were created by Adobe Illustrator CC. I used a Bamboo drawing tablet and pen. I started off with a warm up, this warm up is to get used to the different drawing style you have to get aquatinted with in order to draw via computer. This consists of me writing my name in different brushes, styles, and sizes. After this I looked for five different objects that can hold liquid. The objects that I chose were: A Hookah, a guitar, A hand, Ice cream cone, and a regular bottle. Several of these illustrations focused on a shadow that would be made by the object. For others, suck as the ice cream cone and the guitar, there was a little bit more detail put into the drawing. This was so that one would be able to tell more easily what the objects were.Concept: The point of these illustrations is to draw something that can hold a liquid. Almost everyone would be drawing pots and cups. I thought that it would be nice to think outside of the box and pick Somethings else other than cups and pans. The first illustration is a bottle with is something that you would expect. I drew this to warm up, its one of the first things that you see when you thing of something that can hold a liquid. The next object is an Ice cream cone. Some people would consider custard ice cream to be some sort of thick liquid, therefore the cone serves the purpose and would fit the guidelines. For the next object I chose a hand, hands were used to scoop water up before the time of pots and pans. A guitar is something that you normally would not put liquids into but this does not excuse the fact that it is capable of it, depending on the type of guitar and the brand. I chose the Hookah because of its many curves and lines. This object has the ability to hold a liquid because there is a special compartment made for the water.
Composition: If you were to look at this entire post as a whole, the main attraction would be the Hookah because of how curved it is. Then the guitar because of where it lands outside of the box. After that the hand, then the ice cream cone and finally the bottle which is what you would expect. These are listed in the order I deem most interesting.
